Craft Room Perfection!

Craft cabinet- Before After running into this long time friend in Wal-mart, and talking about organizing. She told me she was in the process of moving her craft room from an upstairs bedroom down to the main floor so she could be close to the family. She had already purchased the organizing system she would like to use. She had already started to move things around but got to a place that she had what she needed moved and kind of stopped. So I convinced her to let me help her out and get it all moved and organized according to her style. Old craft room- Before She took the quiz, and like I had already known, because I have seen her house and know how she likes things to be, she fits in the  persnickety  style. Par for the  persnickety  course she had stopped her plan because it was no longer perfect in her eyes. She had it all put away into the cabinet, but a lot was still upstairs in piles and she wasn't happy with what the cabinet was doing. I had her show me what she a

Drop zone clean up

At the beginning of 2020 I worked with a client who was very hesitant to get organized. She is a classic Conventional who you would never know was a clutter queen. Her house was spotless, everything very tidy and clean and in perfect place. I was hired by her on a whim. She recently retired and knew she needed to get her house organized before it was too much for her to do on her own. She quickly learned it was too late, she didn't know where to start or even how to start. Insert me, and my cute organized bag with my label maker, trash bags and rubber bands just to name a few, and my trash/donate/keep/maybe bins. She was nervous, she asked if I wanted to start with a cup of coffee and right away she started pointing out where she was "a mess", behind her cabinets while looking for sugar, fridge while looking for milk... I told her not to worry, I am not here to judge and once she finds the value in being organized behind doors she will be able to work on all areas of her

Closet Clutter

The Before Picture Closets are always an easy spot to "shove things" and close the door, and go on with your day. I have helped many clients get different closets into shape. First I helped a woman with her walk in clothes closet. Lets start with her organization style- She took the quiz and discovered that she is "Precise". So she likes to see her belongings, and also wants them organized in a detailed way. She started with clutter in her closet they day she moved into her new house. She hadn't really taken the time to figure out where she wanted each item to go in her house. When it came time to moving day, she had movers helping her. She got overwhelmed and couldn't always answer where she really wanted it to go. So a lot of times the answer was "master bedroom closet." And then from there it just became too much to keep up with and she just left it there. 3 years later I was called in to help. She really was overwhelmed she was starting t

Why you need a Professional Organizer

Are you one who feels like you will never be able to get rid of your clutter because you can't let things go? Does everything in your house have a purpose to you? Have you stopped even thinking about it because it is too overwhelming? Do you know how much time you are losing due to your clutter? Most people don't realize how much clutter takes over their whole life. When your house is clutter filled, so is your mind. I have worked with many clients who have had these issues. I will break them up into two posts, this one is when its hard to let go of clutter.  In my opinion a great professional organizer will come in and help you make the decisions on your own. If a professional organizer comes into your home and demands you get rid of 95% of your clutter and just starts throwing things into the trash bin, you are not going to feel successful or know how to continue to do it on your own. Now, you may need to remove 95% of your belongings to clear up space, and you have feel

Desk Clutter

Kid clutter is normal, many kids don't understand why it is important to put things away properly. When using my quiz to figure out the persons style of living and how they want their items to look when organized will help them to understand that they can be organized and stay organized. This Client is a high schooler and has a love for school and academics. She loves this desk of hers because it is huge, can hide all of her belongings and still display her special trinkets that she has collected on special vacations. I had her take the quiz and we learned that her style is Conventional. She doesn't like to see her items, she likes them hidden. She came to me looking for help in how to organize her stuff in a way that she could keep most of it, have it nearby if she needed it and still have a ton of space to do her actual work, but have most of it put away.  Our first task was to take everything out and go through what she needed, wante

Take the Quiz

My philosophy about organizing is to Organize. Maintain. and Enjoy. I have always wanted to figure out a way to get people organized and stay organized. Anyone can clean a space and make it look beautiful, but can they find a system and keep it that way? Most of the time, no. That is why I am here, and why I have created this quiz. Please take this quiz and record your answers. Keep in mind, you need to take the quiz as you currently are. Not what you wish you were or what you think you are. It is very important to understand your clutter before you can declutter and stay that way. What Type of Organizer are you? 1. Your countertops now are: a.EVERYTHING out, you like to see what you have, always. b. Tidy piles of anything, waiting to be put away. c. My counter tops are very clean, but please don’t look behind any doors or in any drawers. d. NOTHING on my counters, I take out and put away what I use. 2. When it’s time to declutter you feel; a. H

Comments from new Clients

This is a letter from a client I helped at the beginning of 2020. She is the kindest lady on the planet. and here are her sweet words. It's letters like these that help me to know I have made the right decision to become a professional organizer, and that I am changing peoples lives. I can't wait to see how her 2020 years finishes and how happy she is come December! Let me start off by saying how amazing Gressa is!  I believe that her ‘kick start’ visit was just what I needed to get going on my organization plan for 2020!  After living in my house for 28 years now, and not having done much purging, I felt overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start, nor did I have a plan for organizing. I decided to start with my utility closet which was a ‘catch all’ for so many different things, from household paper products to wrapping papers, greeting cards, cameras, camping gear, blankets, antique items, candles, miscellaneous gifts, office supplies, tech stuff, etc. etc.!   I wa
