Day 3/15 Alone time

Today is all about "Alone time", "Me time", "Quiet Time"- whatever you want to call it! It is time that EVERYONE needs right now. I know a lot of you have kids at home and are thinking- when do I have time for me?- It is so important that you make the time. Even if it is only 10 minutes.
Me time can look like many different things. As long as it is time that YOU get to think to yourself about what you want to think about, or doing something that YOU want to be doing, and you are alone. Some ideas are:

  • Journal
  • Read a book
  • Text a friend
  • Organize
  • Go for a walk
  • Find a yoga/workout video
  • Meditate
  • Listen to a podcast
  • Listen to music
Also give your kids and spouse Alone time. I know, they usually get a lot more then moms tend to get. Now that you are all home together you can have them help you. Remember you don't always have to be doing everything together, just because you haves to stay in place.

In my house my alone time, is working. I am trying to get my Professional Organizing business up and running so when my 4 year old starts preschool, ( he is a December baby, so he won't start Kindergarten until fall of 2021) I will have time to really get this business running and ready to go into more clients homes and help them get organized. I have put into our schedule that my "alone time" is during "sibling time". Because we have such big gap in ages it's hard for natural play to happen, because the big kids don't really "play". So I am totally taking advantage of this time of having everyone home. I encourage all of you moms who are use to not having time to yourself, to find the time now. Maybe Dad is home more now, ask him to take the kids on a walk, or read with them. Then you go do something for yourself. Not the dishes or fold the laundry, but something for you. Also it's important to teach your toddlers that they can play by themselves and be in their room by themselves. Start small and have them play alone for 5 minutes and you use that time to organize your thoughts, or just sit in silence. If you have babies then try to get your time durning nap time. I know its a lot harder, but even a shower can be amazing alone time for moms of babies! Chores will be there even after you take 10 minutes for yourself!
What are you doing for your "Alone time" today?

Why you need a Professional Organizer

Are you one who feels like you will never be able to get rid of your clutter because you can't let things go? Does everything in your house have a purpose to you? Have you stopped even thinking about it because it is too overwhelming? Do you know how much time you are losing due to your clutter? Most people don't realize how much clutter takes over their whole life. When your house is clutter filled, so is your mind. I have worked with many clients who have had these issues. I will break them up into two posts, this one is when its hard to let go of clutter.  In my opinion a great professional organizer will come in and help you make the decisions on your own. If a professional organizer comes into your home and demands you get rid of 95% of your clutter and just starts throwing things into the trash bin, you are not going to feel successful or know how to continue to do it on your own. Now, you may need to remove 95% of your belongings to clear up space, and you have feel...
